Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
How lovely to be able to post a photograph on Monday morning! I am on holiday today, the sky is blue and it feels just wonderful!
This is a shot that I took at the weekend! It is a photograph of an old farmouse on the edge of the Lancashire Moors where it merges with Yorkshire. Beyond the horizon, is the moorland made so famous by the Bronte sisters!
In the foreground you will be able to see the traditional dry stone wall, so characteristic of this part of the country!
The colours are not strong because it is a typical winter's day but I hope it gives some idea of the wild and wonderful landscape in this part of N.W.England.
Thank you for stopping by.
I hope you enjoyed it.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of this photograph! :-)

Hello Bev,
An excellent composition - you have wisely resisted the temptation to boost the saturation, and as you say, it is more representative of nature at this time of year.
We have been having beautiful clear blue skies down south as well lately.
A nice progression of perspective, from the FG stone wall, across the fields to the farmhouse, then on to the distant hills.
Regards,
Peter.

Hey Beverly,
A very lovely scenery. You`ve composed it superbly. A gracious motive, with the pleasant pastures, and the traditional home. Fine sharpness, colors and clarity. Well done.
See you around.

I really like the composition. The top of the wall and trunk of the tree give interest in the foreground without distracting from the wonderful view.

Hi Bev,
I like the inclusion of the wall in front as it gives depth and opens the capture. Just like in Germany without snow it shows the sleep of nature in winter in typical colours and light. I am not sure about the sense of the tree, maybe it would have been better if this one has also got some more sharpness.

Hello Beverley,
Interesting rolling landscape, and I notice the fine light of early spring!
The composition is well balanced with fine lines, the typical buildings are well placed in the frame...

Hi Bev.
A lovely shot in almost spring light. I think the photo is very nicely composed, with the buildings at a pleasing angle and the low hills making a nice horizon. However, the stone wall and tree are out of focus. Perhaps if you had stepped back a little, and/or used an even smaller aperture, the DOF would have been a little greater. Perhaps the tree is not needed at all. Perhaps, even, you could swing the camera around to the right a little and place the house a bit further to the left.
I do like the very natural colouring in this one.

Andrew

Hi,
Lovely winter landscape with a peaceful muted winter hue to it. You have captured three sides to the charming farmhouse that angles nicely towards distant hills. The stone fence in the foreground gives a nice old world look to this fine image.
Regards, Tom
