Photographer's Note
Speakers' Corner, Hyde Park... The man's statement is obvious, but its meaning may be unclear, especially given that 34 years have now elapsed. Many "ends" may have come and gone, but "THE" end certainly has not.
I apologize for the debris that got scanned with this slide. It was originally shot on 35mm Kodachrome.

Hey Russ,
I have never been able to figure these people out
if the end was actually at hand you would surely have better things to bother your time with?
I know i would :-)
Great wee time capsule and given the time the message still gets paraded round but it never come ;-)
Have a good one

Hello Russ
Terrific post. This end of the world thing is pretty timeless, haha! I like the determination in the man's hands holding up the sign. Great scan quality too, just a bit of noise, but that doesn't bother me at all. Au contraire...it adds to the appeal of the picture. Thumbs up from me!

Hi Russ,
The end has been at hand for about 1981 years. Furthermore, the one who first said it claimed it would happen like a thief coming in the night. So there is no point in trying to estimate when it's going to happen.
Good photo of a street scene. It is especially valuable for its historic record. Good original photo, well scanned.
Regards,
MT
