"Before the throne was a sea of glass, like unto crystal" ...Revelation 4:5-11

A trip into Manchester city centre yesterday led me to the Anglican Cathedral, I've never visited before, and actually had no intentions of going, normally I'd just pass by it, but the door was open so I thought a quick look in would be a good idea, it turned into the best part of the trip.

There are four massive stained glass windows, reaching right up to the vaulted arches, each with their own name, this was called Revelations, hence the choice of name for the picture, and that quotation didn't trip off my tongue!, I'm not religious, and couldn't quote from the bible if I wanted to, so a search on the internet for something, and this seemed perfect!

Stained glass can be notoriously difficult to get a really good shot of, so much depends on the light outside, which in this case wasn't too good, added to that, the inside of the cathedral was extremely dark, so I was very doubtful if the statue would have any depth to it, I was rather pleased when I saw the picture later that afternoon.

I did have to alter the perspective of the final image, which was cropped from a much larger one which took in the whole of the window, but dwarfed the statue, altogether a very satisfying shot.
