Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone,
My photographs are still from the North Yorkshire coast but a little further north than Whitby.
These cottages, reflected in the sea pool, are from the pretty, fishing village of Staithes.
I have previously shown more common views of the village, looking down from the clifftop, which was a well known view, because it was used as an advert for Yorkshire tea.
Here, we are on the beach looking inwards, towards cottages. The runway for launching boats was just nearby and I included that in the shot that I will show as a workshop.
The sky was somewhat overcast but that did not prevent lovely reflections in the water, possibly because of the abundance of reds.
Have a lovely weekend, Bev :-)

Hi Bev,
I appreciate the reflections on the water. The point of view is showing the details of the seashore and of the reflections. The light is bringing out the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello bev,
It's interesting how the driftwood has been collected so neatly at the bottom of the slipway. The twigs provide an attractive contrast to the reflected cottages. The wider view of the WS explains what we see here. It is also a good picture and could have been a main photo, but the slight mystery makes this a good choice for official post.
Have a nice weekend,
Gert

Very interesting pov Bev. Very effective and the stillness of the water is a great aid.

A fun idea for a picture, Beverley, and the complementary WS explains where and how you took it, reckon it is a beautiful place.
The debris swept to the gangway (I think this would be the right word for that paved trail for boats) had created yet an interest to the whole.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hi Bev
The cottages are lovely in their own right but here, in this creative image, they just look amazing. So well spotted and shot! The colours are beautiful and I love the contrast between the rippled reflection and the static elements of the photo.
Have a nice Sunday

Hello Beverley,
Reflections always look great, no matter what the weather is like and this a good solution when taking photos on a cloudy day. The reflections are wonderful and nicely distorted in the gentle ripples of the water. The warm tones stand out well.

Hi Bev,very artistic way to show the beauty of the coast close to Whitby, lovely reflections, just a bit unsharp because the difficult light but still good. I like the useful WS with a classic view of the same scene too. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hello bev, I think I prefer the Workshop picturte. Here the reflections are a bit dim and it is a bit disturbing what lies on the shore. Wood or something from the sea?
Have a nice sunday

Beverley, i prefer the workshop photo as the main post. The red cottages are reflected in a pool created by the tide. The sea has brought brown algas on the shore. A rip rap protects the coast against the big waves during storms. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Beverley,
The cottages of the fishing village are well reflected in the water. At the same time, these reflections provide the most fiery colour in the photo.
The thing that intrigues me the most in both pictures is what lies against the water at the bottom of the slipway.
It looks like a lot of algae. But Gert thinks it's driftwood.
A strange sight. At first I thought this was the main subject of your picture. Maybe because I have never seen it here at the seaside.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Beverley, an excellent capture of the reflected houses and the large stones. I like the tight framing with the brown seaweed adding a contrasting texture and colour.
The w/s picture would have been an equally as good main post.
I am surprised that you have 'sat' on this one for so long!
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Bev,
A beautiful reflection of this row of characteristic row houses in Staithes.
The workshop photo beautifully reveals the secret of the reflection.
Have you ever looked at the main photo upside down?
Excellent work
Have a nice day, groet Rob
