Photographer's Note

This is my third photograph on TrekEarth presenting Bamburgh Castle. In the previous one I wanted to show the architecture, here on the other hand, I wanted to emphasize the location of the fortress at the vast sandy beach, beach which is empty even on a bank holiday weekend. In the recent days again I have seen in news photos taken on the beaches in the south of the country. They were incredibly crowded. Not the case here.

This photo title has also another meaning.
Today my neighbour posted on facebook a picture which said "No benefits for foreigners in the UK!".
I wonder whether she is also against foreigners paying taxes?

Hello Mariusz,
Very good choice for the vertical composition, which allows lots of space for the large sandy beach and the fine white clouds in the sky above the beautiful castle. Very well done, ideal lighting as well.

Kadr podzielony miedzy piaszczysta plaze i blekitne niebo. Dodatkiem jest oczywiscie zamek twardo rozdzielajacy te dwa odmienne swiaty.
W zyciu dokladnie tak samo scieraja sie rozne poglady, opcje polityczne , a czasem po prostu ludzka glupota , brak wiedzy bierze gore nad racjonalnymi postawami...
Coz sasiadow nie zawsze mozemy wybrac

Hello Mariusz,

I will address your note first.
It must be sad for you to read a note like that but just think, in any orchard, there will be a few apples that are bruised or bad, most of the apples will be excellent. That's the way you have to look at people and unfortunately, the bad apples seem to receive more attention than the good ones!

With regard to your photograph, I hope I am not going to disappoint you. You know I always try to be honest.

I accept that you are drawing attention to the empty space but, for me, the empty space is just empty. There are no textures or features to excite my attention. The castle is lovely but it has less attention than the huge expanse of sand.

You took this picture out of a low position.
Nice fine sand beach.
Also nice castle on the dunes with lovely clouds above at the sky.

I suppose your neighbour only has rock solid British friends on Facebook.
What about all those British people who live in other European countries? Or does he deny their existence and their number?
I like the clouds hanging above the castle.
But it seems such a strange place to build such a castle.
The huge empty beach increases the feeling of desolation.
Maybe you and your daughter could have built a sand castle in the foreground :)

Hello Mariusz, I like what you were trying to achieve here, indeed the beach at Bamburgh is a lovely stretch of clean sand, and due to its situation it doesn't get crowded.
The castle looks fantastic standing on the horizon against that beautiful sky.

In the US, there are lots of posts against illegal immigrants, but I have not encountered any negative sentiments against legal immigrants. I am sorry to read about your neighbor's post.
I like the wide open beach (obviously at low tide) in front of the castle. 👍🏻👍🏻

The shallow hill and the castle built upon makes a dividing line from the sand to the blue sky with scattered clouds.

Mariusz, the beach located near the castle was exceptionally deserted during the lockdown. The imposant building is standing majestically on the dunes in the back beach. Nice place to explore. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

I can imagine how frustrate you are with some people in UK who think immigrants are not useful. of course this isn't real. marvelous image showing the castle with the cloud above. I liked the special mood of the image with intense beauty and poetry. excellent job.
ignorance is part of the way, but it is ever lost in the journey..

Interesting this view of the splendid castle, where we see the immense sandy area that is the beach next to which it is located, here the people who go can keep the safety distance, the vision of the castle is fantastic, with so many different heights and volumes.
I have been absent for a while, due to a problem with my internet connection, now everything is fine and we return to TE.
Very nice color, which together with good sharpness and optimal lighting, gives great quality to the image.

Hello Mariusz,

Might try a workshop to adjust the cyan tint in the clouds and the blue magenta tint in the sand. Otherwise a very nice shot with good sharpness and the bg castle adding an excellent focal point. Tfs!
