Hi Brian.
I don't see too many Northern Ireland shots in here, so thanks for that. The red gate was the first thing to catch my attention and perhaps why I comment it in the first place, but the landscape is wonderful, and probably more wonderful than I expected. By the way, I've heard Slieve Donark is the highest mountain. Is that nearby?

Hello Brian ,
This is a stunning picture ! The beautiful gate looks a little sphisticated in this rural landscape . Like the vivid colors and the clouds over the mountains in the BG .

Hi Brian,
You have managed the light really well in this shot - did you any filters to balance the sky and the foreground?
Well done and thank you for sharing

Hi Brian
Great scene, well framed and composed. Unlike the other critiquers, however, I am concerned that the colours appear unnaturally vivid: is this Photoshop overcooking it for you??
Cheers

Hi Brian
This is a great shot. It seems almost three-dimensional it's so sharp and well-defined. Yes, the colours are vibrant and the contrast is strong, but personally (and it is a personal thing) I don't find them over-cooked at all. The light also needs to be taken into account here: it's exquisite and plays a large part in making the colours look so luminous. No amount of saturation or contrast is going to fix up a photo with sh*te light. I can give you several examples here on TE where the colours have been saturated beyond all recognition (I'm a past offender) and where they look ridiculous. This photo is certainly not one of them. You did an excellent job. Have you seen the work of Jimkil (Jim Kilgallon) here on TE? His stuff reminds me a little of yours. One of the best things he ever advised me was not to be afraid to increase saturation and contrast. Even the best of photos can look drab without it. So that's my 2 pence worth, congrats and have a good day.
Cheers
Lisa

Hello Brian - What a fabulous gate, I would love to open it and walk through into this soft and gentle Irish landscape. Small things attract my attention, for example the dried bracken around the white pillar and the white-painted buildings dotted around and the sky is really impressive. I'm a little unsure about the colour but feel the shot may be a touch overexposed, I had a quick look at the histogram and the graph is clipped on the RHS. However, a lovely image nonetheless. Best regards rosemary

Hi Brian,
Just lovely how the red is pushed up here, very strong and saturated, very present. Also the textures on the white painted stones are very good. The background still gets plenty of focus too. This makes me want to open up the gates and start walking!

Hi Brian,
Very cool shot, I like the symetrical POV of the gate nicely centered on the foreground and the misty landscape in the background is still very nice and sharp with good details and rich colors. Love the dramma unfolding in the sky. I enjoyed it, thanks. Have a good week.
