Professor, a photo from Argyll and Bute, Scotland

Photographer's Note

This man runs the Linn Gardens on the Green Isle - or Rosneath Peninsula - here in Argyll & Bute in Scotland.

His lifes work is in botany and he dedicates near all of his energies to the cultivation, care and promotion of his sumptious gardens. He allowed me to take his phicture on the agreement it would help promote his work at Linn Gardens and so I am more than happy to keep my end of the bargain.

This shot was a fortuitous moment as he stood between a rather dark room and a better lit hallway for me - took the shot just in case and this is the result.

Camera data - no access to the archived raw at this time - I'll update it when I get to it again.

Beautiful capture of the light and in spite of the darkness of the eyes we can really feel the intense look. Very ver nice and well done. I am not that much confortable with the composition, placing him facing the border of the pic, maybe without a frame he would feel less tight.

What a shot, what a lighting, softly overlaying the body, what a detail, visible so nicely on the hair... I am all amazed by this portrait work. Well chosen black background, it seems. The uncommon, 'unbalanced' composition - who said there's one definition to beauty? Fits very well. Warm congratulations on your work. Tom
