The Trotternish Peninsula stretches north from Skye's main town Portree. The centre of the peninsula is occupied by a high ridge with steep sides making for a dramatic landscape.
Here are 3 photos (2 in the WS) taken along the eastern side of the peninsula looking past houses towards the ridge line.

Hello Ian,
While going through this region, learnt that the Trottenish Quiraing ridge is constantly moving by earth under-currents, a roads repair is needed every year.
Beautiful view from the A855 road at approx. 57.646, -6.2665 on the map. (Similar photo on my gallery).
An astonishing sight.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hello Ian,
The title for these photos was well chosen. All of them offer spectacular sceneries and fine tones of green, brown and grey. They're very nicely taken.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ian,
The ridge is eye-catching. The point of view is showing the details of the houses and of the ridge. The light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
This is certainly dramatic, as clearly indicated by your photograph. By including the houses (which look minute) you have shown the huge scale.
I like the w/s where the cloud is lingering over the plateau, making it seem mysterious as well as dramatic.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Hello Ian,
A gigantic table mountain, the top of which probably often disappears under the mist.
Nicely shown with the puny village at the bottom.
Impressive nature pictures!
They remind me a bit of photos of Iceland I've seen on this site.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Ian
It looks like 'The Nut' in Stanley, north west Tasmania. The hills are tinged purple from the heather. Good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Hello Ian, In the large format it looks really dramatic with these falt rocky top, like a table. The houses below it look so tiny.

Hi Ian,
I think your reportage from Skye convinces me again that I want to go there someday. Maybe not in the first place but someday.
The rocky mountain is so particular and photogenic here. The village at the foothills adds a sense of scale.
Excellent work,
M

Hello Ian,
Turn the color to orange and this would be the wild wild West of the US. Majestic rocks!
