Taken just a little distance from my last photo on this snowy and frosty morning, these contented sheep seemed quite relaxed enjoying some warming sunlight while mist still hung in the little valley below.

In the workshop you can see some more sheep, snow and mist.

ISO 160, 1/800 sec at f/8, focal length 42mm.

Hi John. You really enjoyed these days of snow, and it was really a unique opportunity to take really exceptional photos. A new nice surprise after your last post, the flock of sheep in the snow with the background erased by the fog is fantastic, and even the photographic quality is impressive. I do not understand just because you have classified the photo in the food category ... is it because of the sheep looking for grass in the snow, or because of the man who eats sheep? Eheheh ... Hello John,
how idyllic! And on the white snow the sheep don't look so grey anymore, the only thing that disturbs their natural beauty are the color marks they have on their back. Really, they look content and enjoying a sunbath.

A beguiling composition with this beautiful soft light that you have managed perfectly. The sheep seem very interested in something or somebody other than the photographer. Delightful nature capture.

Hello John,
Their thick furs probably keep the sheep warm, but what about walking barefoot in the snow? ;-) I have a feeling that sheep are not really very smart, but they are quite charming, in this case maybe because they were coming so close to you. The fine light and the wall of thick mist create a lovely atmosphere which you captured with an excellent exposure.

Hello John, I hope that the farmer has put some hay down for the sheep.
The animals are obviously very aware of you, many facing the same way and with their ears pricked up.
It looks really cold, with lovely blue shadows and the cold mist in the background.

A reply to your visit to my picture.
Yesterday then I was in Bruges, almost no visitors, carriage have no work, normally everything occupy, with wait time of 15 minutes.
I was self surprised of the so few people on the market.

sicuramente queste pecore sono abituate a questo clima, perň credo sia difficile anche per loro vivere in queste condizioni, mangiare a bere sono piů difficili da trovare.
Le foto sono molto belle, ottima la qualitŕ e c'č una splendida luce.

Tough sturdy sheep, but makes me shiver - I'm sure they don't feel the cold probably comfortable with their warm wooly coats. Really like the contrast of warm light on the sheep, the frosty ground and good oof misty background - it's also the perfect time of day to get good and eye-catching light. Your 'snow cakes' look terrific in this fine photo. Congrats

hello john, In Iceland, it was snow, mist, sun but instead of sheep, lovely Icelandic ponies everywhere. They were such cute animals. They are also nice.
