Photographer's Note

I was canoeing on the Whiteadder Reservoir in the Scottish Borders today. Paddling up to the end of the loch I saw a structure at the end. I got quite close till I realised it was a giant hole and it would be best not too go down it.

I paddled away again & off to the side, then went over and took this picture looking down into it. I'm so glad I didn't venture any closer.

I've posted another view from the canoe in the Workshop.

I've found out it's called a morning glory (or bell mouth) spillway (morning glory is a plant with a bell-shaped mouth).
