Photographer's Note

We have just had our first autumn mists of the season, so i tried to make the most of it.
The thick fog had long cleared from the valleys and the marshes and had lifted and thinned into a soft orange haze, but deep in the woods and forests the mist remained, and this allowed me to capture this photo of a forest clearing, bathed in golden sunlight, and the mist in the air captured the rays of the sun to give a surreal effect.
During this photo session i saw one person in the distance with a small dog, but the rest of time i was on my own and able to enjoy the sound of the birds singing and the red squirrels jumping through the trees.

Wonderful composition and dof. Beautiful colors of early fall. The hazy sun light through the trees gives the photo a dreamlike effect.

Hello Jamie,

It seems so final, talking about autumn, when we are still waiting for a summer!!
This is a delightful shot, the sunbeams shafting between the trees with the intensity of a searchlight but far more beautiful. I love how it has dappled the carpet of leaves and given luminosity to those leaves on the trees.
The l to r movement across the frame is pleasing, whilst the tree trunks are well positioned in the frame, giving a good composition.

Awesome Jammie - you're certainly getting your fair share of stunning early autumn shot and this is one beautiful morning you enjoyed, wish i was there too. The lighting is exquisite and the range of colours are just perfect and outstanding but most beautiful is the side low-angled rays of warm light beaming thru' on the forest make this one three dimensional, as well as strong focal point. The feel of depth and perspective is there with the loner helps to find the best angle and scale to this shot. Bet this brought a smile to your face and what a very picturesque image and warm in contrast to the serene surroundings. Top rated scene and love it. My compliments :))

What wonderful photo, very artistic. marvelous sun rays finding ways between the trees. Splendid a bit mysterious atmosphere. Outstanding light management, good colours. I like it very much.
