Photographer's Note

After a grey cloudy day, the sun suddenly broke through a tiny crack in the clouds on the horizon, and this just so happened to be right at sunset.

I got to this location by driving to firestone copse and then riding my bike for a good 20 minutes through the forest, riding through deep mud and sliding around all over the tree roots that were sticking up everywhere!

Firestone copse is in the NE corner of the island, and the lake is partially tidal.

I used an ND8 graduated filter and i also blended 3 exposures to try and and get some balance in the light.

Beautiful image, with stunning colours from the sunset, and the tree looks perfect and surreal. Love the composition, a very magical shot.
