Photographer's Note

Changing the Guard or Guard Mounting is the process involving a new guard exchanging duty with the old guard.
The Guard which mounts at Buckingham Palace is called The Queens Guard and is divided into two Detachments: the Buckingham Palace Detachment (which is responsible for guarding Buckingham Palace), and the St. Jamess Palace Detachment, (which guards St. Jamess Palace). These guard duties are normally provided by a battalion of the Household Division and occasionally by other infantry battalions or other units.
When Guardsmen are on duty, the soldiers are drawn from one of the five regiments of Foot Guards in the British Army: the Scots Guards, the Irish Guards, the Welsh Guards, the Grenadier Guards and the Coldstream Guards.

Hi Maria,

Looks like a typical day of overcast British weather - The Changing of the Guard one of the most watched events that take place in London.
Nice to see a photo of the guards makes me a bit homesick for good ole England.

A place that considered to be a "must" for every tourist first time in London, Maria.
Nice taken the precise moment when the guard circle the monument, in an inclusive view of the parade, and that inspite of low light conditions.

Beautiful busy shot, with lots to entertain the eye, and lots of things to look at more deeply in your capture. I love the central focus on that fine golden statue, raised above all the ceremony,and how it glints in the light. Really nicely done to capture this so well with what looks like such hard light conditions.
