Photographer's Note
The traditional Lock Keepers Cottage was home for the Lock Keeper and his family often remote with the only contact being the passing Narrow Boats- The Lock keeper would have been responsible for manning and maintaining the Locks - built circa 1789.. It is one of the older Lock Cottages on the Oxford Canal

Hi Rich,
Of course, I recognise this place very well, though not in its winter garb! An interesting story too and even more interesting that the cottage dates from the same year as its present occupier.
The red brick cottage stands out beautifully against an almost monochrome background and the frost on the trees is absolutely magnificent. That weeping willow is just sublime and, dare I say it, is to me even more attractive than the Great Cropredy Oak.
Good composition with the diagonal line of the canal leading the eye nicely into the picture and the arm of the nearest lock gate perfectly filling the foreground - you were good to get that in sharp focus at f/5.6. Gorgeous colours, lovely light, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Rich
Great composition, I like the contrast between the frozen vegetation and the red brickwork

Hi Rich, Nice to see this lovely cottage:). Is the water in the canal frozen? Nice contrast of the bricks with the white trees. in winter it looks like in fairy tale. Nice composition with inclusion of the locks. amazing this willow tree.
Have a nice weekend

Hello Rich
Magical frost, especially on the weeping willow in the middle distance. Very atmospheric. It's still cold down here in the south, which is a pain, as I'm waiting to antifoul the bottom of my boat, but can't do it in temperatures under 5 degrees. Very frustrating, so I spend my time ogling piccies on TE...
Regards
Will
