Evening Colours at the Needles, a photo from Isle of Wight, England

Photographer's Note

After a day of showers and storms, the evening took on a different personality with broken cloud and good spells of sunshine.
The last shower of the day had passed to my west and then broke up over the sea and as it did so the sun caught the underside of what used to be a big towering shower cloud but was now just a feeble patch of high cloud, having dropped it's last bit of rain about 20 minutes before.

The Needles at Alum Bay is a bit of a tourist attraction with thousands of visitors coming here every year, although you wouldn't have thought it on this day!

I used an ND8 Graduated filter

Hello, interesting point of view along the shore looking out upon the sea. The clouds are lovely with strong colors from the setting sun. Excellent sharpness,
