All of Britain has been suffering from very heavy rains for the last few days and that has brought about flooding in many parts. And although we didn't suffer from any severe floods in our part of Scotland, we did have constant heavy rain today which made our annual Biggar Vintage Car Rally a lot less enjoyable than usual.
Here a group of wet enthusiasts huddle around to admire the mechanical workings of a magnificent old Buick sports car.
In this workshop this beautifully restored Ford Model T has received a good soaking.
But this poor car enthusiast looks less than enthusiastic about the weather.

Hi John
great to see a new photo from you my friend!
really like that WS #1 pic
of course you'd prefer to have sunshine, but for the dedicated photographer i guess the rain could bring new photo opps, just trying to stay positive :) Fun shot here with the reds, blues, and bright greens/yellows. Enjoy your day John, hope everything is going well for you and your family. cheers

Hello dear John,
We do not heavy rains. And in fact, the level of water in the Vistula is very low. maybe it was bad luck with the weather, not so pleasant with the rain, but at least the photos are very beautiful. maybe more attractive than taken with the blue sky. Fantastic all composition. Have you been there with your old lady? I am sure you have. I would love to see your photo in your car:).
Have a nice week

Hello John,
Too bad about the weather at the event, but the colours in this photo are fantastic, a great combination of the very red car, the blue umbrella and the bright yellow jacket of the man (who looks quite sad in the rain). The train drops are also beautifully captured on the umbrella and the car bonnet.

Hello John,
Maybe this was a miserable day for car lovers, but it created great opportunities for keen photographers. I like all three photos, the main one for the strong colours and the frustrated look of the man to the left. The WS photos are more subtle, but I really like the dripping wet beautiful details of the Ford T and the gloomy expression of the man sitting inside his car. All photos are proofs of your skill at finding the photos that tell a story. They are all technically and artistically immaculate.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello John,
Yes, the rain has been a disaster for many festivals, this time of year!
You have done exceptionally well to have taken such clear, close-ups of the vehicles and their owners, in such dire conditions.
Though it may not have felt like fun, at the time, what you have recorded are three amazing records of the very wet conditions and how the people have responded to the conditions.
I just love these close-ups, detailed and very well composed.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
It should have been our annual Agricultural Show, yesterday and for only the second time in its history, it had to be cancelled. After several continuous days of rain, the fields were so waterlogged that even vans needed to be towed from the field. Large wagons, heavy with animals, hadn't a chance!

Hi John.
That's a pity with all those open cars. The man is looking very sad and for a reason i guess.
Great composition.
Thanks and regards,
Gerrit

Hello John ,
Attractive composition . Effect tight framing with strong elements and vivid colors .
The rain provides a fine atomsphere to the scene ... even it is not so easy to work ... and take photographs under it .

Hello John,
A pity of it bad weather, certainly for the nice old cars and the drivers.
Maybe can you our rain send out of Scotland, to Belgium, everything is to dried here .
The Ford is a wonderful car, I like old cars.
But my favourite are the after WW II at fifties.
An excellent nice picture with a good light and sharpness.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hi John
The weather is always the main topic of conversation in Scotland (You are still member of UK, aren't you?) and I know why.....
Nice set of picture shwing you annual event under the rain.
I like the bold primary colors of the main post and then soak hair of the man. The old Ford T has survived the shower wheras the driver of the old car is wondering when the rain is going to stop.
A good report of this festival
Cheers

Hi John,
Not the most pleasant circumstances for doing a motor check. But these colours make a great combination and somehow look brighter in the rain. I just wish those lamps would be completely within frame.

Hello John, three excellent pictures.
The heavy rain is clear for all to see in every shot!
The Model T, it couldn't be any wetter!
I like your main post with the three men under the umbrella, and the poor gentleman in his hi-vis jacket having to brave the weather to sort out his car.
It couldn't be bettered, with the three primary colours we can't miss this shot.
So much is invested in these events, it takes a brave person to call them off, but sometimes it just has to be done.
Thanks for sharing,
Kind regards
Jean.

Hi John
Nice to see a photo from you!
Splendid collection of three images taken on a rainy day. When most photographers stayed at home and played with their computers you decided to grab the occasion and do something special in spite of (or because of) the weather.
I wouldn't know which of the three images to choose as the main upload. I of course love this one because of the large graphic splashes of primary colours and the people hiding under the umbrella make me smile but... I also really like the WS#2 and it reminds of one of the famous photos by Steve McCurry.
Best wishes

Dag John,
A beautiful photo to look at with pleasure.
All the details together tell a wonderful story. The rain, the blue umbrella, the man with the yellow vest looking worriedly over his glasses at the motor watched by the men in the background. And then also the beautiful red of the car hood.
Excellent presentation
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Hello John,
Must be a pleasure to drive such a car, which always needs some repair, mainly in heavy rain. The picture itself is excellent with its vivid colours.
Best Wishes,
Thank you very much for you kind words under my latest photo!
