Photographer's Note
Low tide at Mothecombe beach.
"A rocky shore with plenty of fine sand, especially at low tide.It lies at the mouth of the River Erme."
The beach is part of the privately owned Flete estate.
An AONB - Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The River Erme starts its course on Dartmoor, and flows generally south, and empties into the English Channel.
Two more pictures in the W/S.
Thanks for looking.

Hello Jean,
A wonderful landscape, very well composed, with the beach, the rocks and the hills. There are many appealing patches of green around the photo, even on the beach. The soft light is pleasant.

Hello Jean,
The large puddle remaining since the latest high tide reflects the green hills very nicely. It is generally an appealing view of the beach and the hills, and the WS photos are also attractive, especially the close view of the rocks with so many fine colours.
Yesterday I "discovered" photos I took in southwestern England, mainly Cornwall including the Isles of Scilly, in 1980. I scanned a number of them and was happily surprised that they were quite good. In due time I will show them here.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Jean
A very nice, peaceful, shoreline scene. The tide must come up quite a ways. Always fun to explore the rocks for sea critters after the tide falls. Nice view point with the rolling hills toward the water. Well done - David

Hello Jean,
You have written some interesting notes here as well as providing three delightful photographs for us to admire.
I'm a bit unsure of the geography in these parts but I suspect that Mothecombe lies west of the Jurassic Coast - though I can imagine that there might well be fossils within those rock strata you so elegantly show in one of your workshop images.
Not sunny, but the soft light is delightful and your colours appear faithful. Perfect exposure and excellent details and sharpness in all images.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Just a short question, Jean!
Is AONB an official British attribute - or just Dwyer slang?
The fact per se is undoubted: this looks fine, but I wonder about some smell from the algae?
Have a nice Sunday!

Hello Jean,
These three excellent photos clearly show that this is an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty".
At low tide, as we see here, but probably also at high tide when the ratio between water and land has shifted.
Nice work.
Have a nice day. Groet Rob

Hello Jean,
Thank you for explaining about the location of this pretty, sandy beach.
It' a good composition.
I like how well you have included the large, sea puddle, left by the tide, on a well placed angle across the frame.
It also creates a good contrast with the surrounding sand, as well as reflecting the greenery.
Useful w/s add to our more complete picture.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Hi Jean
looking at this now, it makes me wonder how it looks when the tide is completely in, and i get the feeling it can be pretty stormy here too. A real and rustic landscape, I like it

Hello Jean,
Fantastic reflections in the tidal pools with good sharpness colour and saturation. The beachcombers animate the scene. Looks like a lot of kelp and seaweed so it's possible the odd seal or 2 might drop by once in a while. Tfs!

Hi Jean.
Both this photo and the two of the WS, are magnificent, at low tide rocks from the coast appear, the bathing area is better seen in those fine sands, the rocks have a beautiful range of colors ..
A good management, both of the luminosity, as of the sharpness.
Nice job. I like it.
Enjoy the weekend.
My best wishes for you.

Jean, algas and some seawater remain on the sand at the low tide. Mothecombe beach is surrounded by a green countryside. It is a good idea to visit that place to breath and relax. Fine colors, good image quality, instructive photo note, regards.
