An equestrian statue of Richard the Lionheart (Richard 1st) in front of the Houses of Parliament in London. He lived from 8 September 1157 6 April 1199. He came to the throne in 1189 AD, and outlived all of his older brothers. More information here:

Hello Chris,
The statue looks quite dramatic and expressive and the tightly cropped Neo-Gothic façade provides a good background. I like the sharpness and good contrasts.

An imposing statue with the exquisite architecture of the Parliament building as a backdropto, Chris.
The black texture made a great contrast with the walls behind.

Hello Chris,
A great photo of the sculpture of this iconic king in English history. It stands out so well from the easily recognisable façade of the Houses of Parliament, which add a nice warm colour as well.

Use of tele works particularly well here giving perfect background to this statue. Architecture is certainly impressive. Mighty king, I wonder how much we truly know of his era.

Beautiful view of this magnificent statue. Extreme precision and elegance were used in the construction of this sculpture. Clarity and exposure done well. I like that. I read the novel Richard Shirdel's battles with Salahuddin Ayoubi. Thanks for sharing

Excellent view of this statue against the facade of the Houses of Parliament. I do not remember this rider although I went there only a week ago. But I have seen so many monuments, statues and columns! Couldn't notice all of them.

I always liked this monument, I took couple of photos of it with this amazing elaborate background. The weather was not on your side but it also didn't stop you from making it interesting and eye catching.
What amazes me is that the inscription is in French.
