Photographer's Note
Another shot from the B.P. Magnus Field, you wouldn't believe how many shots ended up in the bin due to the low light and erratic movement of the vessel i was on.

Excellent shot Tommy. I think that the strongest point of this picture is that you've managed to capture the real power of the sea. I can almost feel the wind blowing in my hair and hear the sound of raging waters! Thanks for sharing and feel invited to my gallery as well!

What a black light here Tommy. So powerfull the sea and the skies, at the same time a bit scarying, the wave works very well with the metal structure of the platform. Very interesting.

WOW - really impressive, with "hand on my heart"- one`s of the best and most impressive picture that I saw in TE. The idea to put wave in the foreground is fantastic, Amazing "hole in the sky" created by light over this oil platform. Yes your picture that`s something great. My congratulations!I`m sending my best regards! Andrzej

Hello Tommy,
Very dramatic powerful shot of the waves of the North Sea,The dark sky and light all add to your great shot. The water and waves are fascinating to watch, never stopping always the movement your eyes never tire looking.
Thanks for sharing and reminding myself of sea time spent on ships.
Regards and keep safe.

Hey Tommy,
Fearless capture despite the horrendous might of the waves. Those battling elements wont allow me to even bring to myself to where you were...fantastic and equally tough job there dude!

Hello Tommy
This is a purely excellent photo, how on earth did you get this POV? Are you working on supply boats or something?
I can imagine there are a lot of bad shots if this was from aboard a ship, but this one is really good!
Excellent composition with massiv amounts of action win the wave.
Overall the shot seems a little dark but it doesn'treally matter.
Thank you for sharing.

Great shot, well exposed. I like the fact that you paid so much attention to depth of field, since you mentioned that the light was low and I noticed that you exposed at f/8. My question is, why didn't you use a higher ISO than 400?

I think I can believe it because you can feel it from your beautiful photo that gives you the idea of the rough sea and the wind blowing.
You managed to get an excellent POV and good sharpness. I like a lot the waves between you and the platform.
Excellent shot

Hi Tommy,
Good shot, very impressive. However you might have cut a bit of the left side of the picture, so that the platform would appear in the middle. I see a slight imbalance at the moment.

Jesus!
I'm just seasick looking at it on my screen, it must have been quite a rock and roll experience living it!
One could complain about the rig being a bit too centered, but IMHO you have an image that is beyond that. You were "there", mate, and that counts!

Hello Tommy,
I just came across this highly compelling image from two years ago. It's an extraordinary moment, and one that I can believe would have called for many many shots to achieve a good resolution. A superb camera, the hands of a skillful photographer. Bravo!
Some of the finest shots of the rough water around Scotland are submitted by Stephen Branley . Warm regards from Virginia, USA.

Hi Tommy!
Just an amazing picture. I can just understand the difficulty you had in taking it! But the result is flabbergasting! In such weather conditions, you still got the rig under the sun rays, and that wave is just a masterpiece! Where were you standing while shooting it?
Great shot!
