Photographer's Note
Here is another shot from previous weekend trip. The tide was reaching is highest point, the water was approaching really fast and was covering up quickly those stones that caught my attention. I've taken more photos of this vertical composition. I particularly like this shot for its simplicity and kind of purity.
I wonder which version you like more.
Here is the previous post.
Lucie
Technical details: I have used tripod as well as ND filter to balance the light and get good detail of the front stones, colors were not enhanced in any way.

Hi Lucie,
I prefer this version, I think the stones give some excellent foreground interest. The colours, sharpness and POV are all excellent. Well done.

Hello Lucie,
This is a very good composition, very good quality, very good POV and DOF.
I like it very much. Now if I had to choose between this and the previous one, I think I prefer the previous post. The sky of you previous post is so wonderful and I like light undulations on the surface of water.
The last one is a little too fixed for my taste.
Best regards

I agree with Mitch. It's a peaceful view of nature. Colors are warm and cold in the same time.

Beautiful work as usual Lucie. I see that you are getting as many water shots as you can before you move! The composition is so perfect and simple, it generates a good feeling of peace and calm. Excellent!

I like this compo better because it has more depth. Vertical compos always seem to provide that feeling. But the exposure (or the editing) in the previous one is better, more controlled. The highlights here are a bit too strong. I wouldn't mind seeing just a bit more sky in this one. A great photo anyway. It will be hard to make this photos in Kuwait ;)

That's a beautiful shot - the ND filter has worked very well here, the exposure levels are very good in all areas of the frame.

Of the two shots, I prefer this one.
The vertical composition wasn't the obvious choice, and it's worked well. A good reminder that it pays to explore a scene with different compositions and choices of framing.
I think that a tight shot of just the stones in the foreground would also have worked very well, I love the blue/grey colour in that area of the frame.
Perhaps a stronger ND grad was needed here, as there's a hint of burnout in the sky, but not so much that it really detracts from the success of the shot.
A minimalist and graphic image; it's worked very well Lucie.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Lucie,
first of all I (sligthly) prefer this version as, in my opinion, the vertical composition fits better this kind of subject. I have a question: where are flares? I've deleted tons of shots due to annoying flares spots. For example I have some captures made some minutes before this, beautiful but unuseful because of flares. Do you have any simple advice?
Ciao, Dario

Hello Lucie
I have a preference for the vertical format, although I love them both. I think that the foreground interest is more tightly framed in this shot which therefore makes things neater. I like the off-centre placement of the sun and the water is very pure, almost like a sheet of metal reflecting the wonderful colours of the sun. Very nice work.
Best wishes

Hi Lucie!
I regognize the place. The vertical looks as good as the previous one, still those shiny marbles attract me a lot.
