Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone!
Happy Easter Holiday to all those who are fortunate enough to be on holiday today!
Further with my theme of moorland farms, this example demonstrates perfectly how many of the farm houses nestle into the hillside for added protection against bad weather.
The drystone walls are prominent and these also offer protection for the animals as well as marking boundaries.
This quiet, February scene will probably be a little different now! The sheep will have been moved closer to the farm for lambing so the field will be occupied now!
Most farmers aim to have their ewes lambing at this time of the year when the worst threats of snow and chilling winds are over. (Having said that, I can remember times when the first day of spring has been accompanied by blizzards and some farmers ventured out to put plastic bags on the lambs to help keep them warm.)
Thank you for your visit.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. :-)

Happy Easter to you too, Bev!
This is lovely. Trouble is that I believe that the colours and the lighting are so very, very faithful and, as such, this might not attract rave reviews. Wind up the contrast and the saturation and have cobalt-blue sky and emerald green grass and the punters love it - even although it bears no resemblance to what you saw when you took the photograph.
Enough ranting. This is very nice indeed. Good colours (as I said in a recent comment on another topic to Peter Geldart (graffer), I think Nikons excel in colour faithfulness, especially greens, and seem better than Canon DSLR's in this respect), good lighting and superb (as always) sharpness.
Interesting note too!
Best Wishes,
John.

Hi Bev.
Another fine shot, carefully composed and with lovely gentle light and colouring that looks very natural. The windy road, the wall, the slope, the trees, the partially hidden house - they're all in perfect harmony. You have a good sharp image here. I don't remember if you have used this camera before, but it has done a great job here.
Regards,
Andrew

Hello Bev,
I agree with John, the oversaturated pictures capture most of the attention, and I love your charming and sincere picture very much. I almost feel the fresh air of that morning.
Best regards and happy Easter to you.

Hi, Beverly,
I agree with John that many people overdo the color. This shot has perfect spring colors. Soft green, winter gold. I do think it could use a tad more contrast to make it shine. I love the composition with the road leading in and the wonderful stone wall with the house just peeking over. I did a workshop to show you what I meant about the contrast. If you think it's overdone, please feel free to tell me. Many thanks and Happy Easter,
Shelly

Another fine perspective shot where our eye is nicely led into the shot. I think I might have tried to get the whole of the trees in by taking a couple of steps back. Nice image all the same.
Best wishes

hello Bev,
I like the warm, soft light and the bluey shadow of the wall. The drystone creates a good diagonal leading line.

Hi Bev,
Wonderful depth this this lovely English countrside image. The details to the lovely on stone fence are marvelous as it lays a soothing shadow all the way down the narrow lane. Very peaceful spring time image.
Regards, Tom
