Photographer's Note
A few hours visit to Haifa, third largest city in Israel, here is a view from the Stela-Maris observation point upon the most western slope of the Carmel mountain, at 32.8282, 34.97 on the map, some 400+/-m above sea-level.
On the main photo we can see sea a storm approach above the bay of Haifa while on lower part of the picture just below the slope, is the Israeli Navy Maritime museum and part the lower town quarter.
On a clear day there is a superb sight all the way north to the ridge upon the border dividing Israel to Lebanon, direct line of some 32km away.
Pictures were taken with my Cellphone.

danas smo komsije sa fotografijama na TE.
Lep pogled i trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lep deo grada i more, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa oblacima koji dolaze i najavljuju promenu vremena.
Dobar rad sa lepom fotografijom u radionici.
Zelim vam lep dan, sve najbolje.

Hi Ike,
I think having the palm tree in the corner works better than having it centrally. Other than that the views are equally good. The weather is not my favourite but the storm in the distance adds a nice touch.
Very well done,

Hi Ike,the composition in the WS is more busy but both are certainly interesting, it was not easy to make a choice. Great view of the Haifa coast, a great urban development that obscured what used to be the natural scenery, however definitely a pleasant place to live in a perfect climate.Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ike,
It happens very often that I can't decide which photo to use as the main upload. I often wonder if I made the right choice. I think your main photo gives us the best view of the approaching storm and the big waves hitting the shore. The WS shows us the port, but it's almost obscured by the haze, so there are enough interesting details to see in the main photo anyway. Both photos are very clear, with good contrasts, in spite of the vanishing light.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ike,
You have captured well the arrival of the waves at the beach. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

Hello Ike,
I really understand your dilemma about which photograph to post as the main one! They are both fulfilling in fine details. This one has a good diagonal with the palm tree in the corner. The second has more details of the city, with a good sense of depth to the distant ridge.
It is a fine balance!
For me, the w/s just wins because of its great depth and greater city details.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Ike.
A sensational panorama of the city, in which we can appreciate the threatening sky and the sea a little rough, magnificent coastline, with spaces between the buildings which are not very high, which is more pleasant, the WS shows us the view a little more inland from the coastline.
Optimal light, sharpness and color
Very well done. I love it.
Enjoy the weekend.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Ike,
Hard to tell whether one of the two photos is really better than the other.
They both provide a razor-sharp image of the district at the bottom of the hill.
The greenery in the foreground tells us that you were on a hill.
I like the many boats nicely spread over the sea and the arriving waves look beautiful in the blue water.
The many clouds did not hinder the clarity, nor did they immediately indicate that you urgently needed to seek shelter.
Many years ago there was a large youth hostel on the west hill of Carmel. Whether that was in the vicinity of this viewpoint I cannot say.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ike
I see a thrilling picture of Haifa by the sea, which is a rare city mentioned in your notes.
It excels by virtue of the many zones of interest in town, the diagonal shore line reaching the greyish horizon crowned by a dramatic sky for a thrilling effect and finally by the green-tinted sea that draws the attention in shallow waters.
This is a noteworthy capture!

Hi Ike
A nice bird's eye view of the city from the lookout. Good sharpness and framing. The beach at left would be a popular place in summer. Tfs!

Hello Ike,
This high POV let you capture a wide view of the shoreline. I like this combination of architecture and the sea. The stormy sky also adds to the view, and I like the bit of greenery in the right corner of the foreground. Take care!

Hello Ike,
So we are looking at the Great Sea with great clouds over it. It looks like it's raining in the distance.
