Photographer's Note

Dendrocopos syriacus / a Syrian Woodpecker is a migrating bird from Eastern-Europe that stay in Israel from early autumn till late spring.
A grown male can reach a length of 25cm. It has a unique way of presenting itself by mechanical drumming, sounds as a vibrating rattle with its beak on a branch or tree/wooden trunk. That's how I had spotted this one, while walking along the Yarkon river, taken several pictures until managed a full view of it.

RAW converted into JPEG. Cropped in 1:1 aspect ratio.
