Photographer's Note


The past year we spent two weeks trekking in Jordan. I would like to share with you some pictures of this wonderful journey.

And to begin, this Bedouin and his camel, encountered in the Wadi Rum desert (see map).

Bedouins are the soul of Jordan. They are reputed for their hospitality. Their welcome is made of smiles and glasses of mint tea.

They are also great negotiators. One of them pretended to have 13 dependent children, and after having bought a typical Jordanian product for 12 dinars instead of 20 (great bargain!), we found later that it was manufactured in Pakistan and was worth four dinars in the market of Amman...
