Red Cliffs, a photo from Maan, South

Photographer's Note

Some arid desert scenery around Petra. The red cliffs caught my eye here. Highly recommended and worth including Wadi Rum to the south as well. Even since my visit, yet more archeological treasures have been unearthed!

Hello Chris,
Petra was no doubt among the highlights of my travels. I don't specifically remember this red rock, but it's a large area with so many spectacular sights so you can't see or remember everything. This was the day after summer solstice and the heat is obvious. The people down there needed to find shade (and so did you).

Beautiful desert scenery from near Petra, Chris.
Red rocks and towering summits marvelously in scale with the figures on the trough between.

Hello Chris,
It wasn't so clear on the thumbnail but actually this is a very beautiful desert landscape.
I remember the polished red rocks of Petra as we see them here in the foreground.
On the other hand, the high rocks on the horizon make a big impression, while the people and the huts give us a good idea of the extent of the landscape.

So far we are having luck with the covid but being stuck between locked down Sydney and Canberra who knows?
Great splash of red on the cliff that leads our eyes to the rear rugged ridge line.

I saw these rocks ever in close up, almost never in a far view as we can see here.nice details of the area.

To me, these red cliffs are reminiscent of Colorado. Nice, arid landscape.
