Photographer's Note

The Medussa at Didyma or Didima is the picture that inspired me to go to Turkey. From here on in, I was thorougly awed and made curious by the history and beauty of this wonderful country and its people.

The Medussa is called "she with the snakes in her hair". I am of the firm belief that her eyes are that way, so as to watch the snakes that keep crawling on her face. Apparently, legend has it, if you look into the Medussa's eyes, you will be turned into stone, so don't look too closely (just kidding)!

Nice captured Cathy! She has a weird expression in her face I think. I like the story of her, they should have made her hair look like snakes also... Great picture, I have to see this when going to Turkey!
