Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.

It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,

For International Women's Day, March 8, I guess this poem would be the best.

Hello Fusun,

Your B&W photo very attractive with your model and of course with splendid lights. Her pose is very natural, hope it's not a scene. Dark frame, concrete facade and jalousie are excellently completes the frame. A good one, congratulations.

Hi Fuson,

A very poetic and beautiful educational text.
In my opinion this is a "phenomenal" image of a smoking woman, looking through her window.
Very nice sepia colors and a well shosen composition.
Light conditions and sharpness are unimprovable.

the poem and the image fits quite well the comemoration, although I thought that not having that cigarette would be even better. Hmmm, I just can't put aside my aversion and professional background while enjoying the image.

Betonarmeli ve camlı mabetlerimizde, birbirimizden, doğadan ve ışıktan jaluzilerle, şerit şerit yabancılaştığımız bu modernliğin içinde kaybolmaya yüz tutmuşken, ancak sigara elimizde hayal kurarız işte böyle. Elle a une trčs grande élégance cette photo ! Le choix d'un noir et blanc évidemment s'imposait pour cette phénoménale demoiselle, beaucoup de beauté dans ce léger décolleté ainsi que dans la petite partie éclairée du visage....

Sorry to be a bit late, have been very busy. My congratulations for this most beautiful portrait of a woman. It's very elegant in its composition and her attitude too (although I am against smoking:). The diagonal, the way she looks outside, the geometry made by the shutters and the light that comes through...and plays on her face and bosom ...all concur to this. Lovely sepia tonality, just enough. A little mysterious mood too, and great choice of text !

Hi Tehanu, it's rare that i read a poem in english cause each time i don't understand all words and spirit due to my lack of vocabulary. Here i understood all and for sure this fits so well this picture, the mood of it, this BW is excellent and you played well with light. I would have loved to see a little bit of a reflexion of her on the window.

Is she one of these countless smart and good looking women in there thirties who can not find a proper man or is she just one of your colleagues who is frustrated by the limited intellectual abilities of her students?
I think this shot falsifies your theory that it is not possible to take good shots in Ankara. Very aesthetic and sensitive compo, a bit depressing, pessimistic, with intellectual attitude and fantastic light.

The light plays the first role,creating the mystery,the phenomenon.But,not to forget about her.She plays it`s best.The attitude that makes the photograph so beautiful.Few minor actions/gestures captured at the right moment,can create phenomenons.Naturalness can be and it is tremendously beautiful,light and shadows create the mystery,she it`s a mystery.My compliments for this photograph.

This one has a classic, film-like quality. A mysterious woman that seems to have passed through a number of things in her life, thus sharpening her survival instinct. Excellent contrast and composition.
