Photographer's Note

A little later in the evening than yesterdays upload taken after sunset. In the distance are the straights of the Dardenelles connecting the Aegean Sea to the Sea of Marmara and then to the Black Sea. Gallipoli and Anzac Cove are on the Aegean side of the peninsula. Both wars were fought over strategic access to the Black Sea although the legend of Helen of Troy is certainly less pragmatic and more romantic. Might upload shots from there later. This is part of the props used in the 2004 movie with Eric Bana, Brad Pitt and the late Peter O'Toole.

This wooden horse was made in Malta for the movie set but now stands on the Canakkale waterfront.
