Photographer's Note

We are finally back outside. This is the fountain that is tight under the central arch of the portico of Enderun Library. Although Wikipedia claims it is a drinking fountain, I think the two side fountains are for drinking and the central one is for ablutions. Why do I think so? Because this close to Mosque of the Aghas and the inscription on it mentions ablutions:

"I asked the fountain about the delightful water
In its own tongue it told me it belonged to Ahmed Khan
I am prosperity and recompense, on the Judgement Day
May God grant that exalted person his blessing
Oh man of reason take warning as you look upon
The reason why that righteous man is forgiven
Adding to five prayer times tell his date
Make your ritual ablutions according to the sunnah of Ahmed
[The Prophet Muhammed (p.b.u.h)]
1131 AH (1719 CE)"

I believe Ahmed Khan is referring to Ahmed III.
