Ottoman Castle, a photo from Istanbul, Marmara

Photographer's Note

While returning from an assignment on the Asian shore of Istanbul, I realized that it was almost the blue hour, and decided to make a detour in order to look at Anadoluhisar, a 14th century ottoman fortress built during the reign of Beyazit the 1st. Not as large as Rumeli, fortress built by the Sultan Mehmet II known as "The Conquerent" on the European side, it offers great views and photographers are fond of taking pictures of the boats moored on the small river which passes next to it.

Superbe cette vue nocturne.L'éclairage du chateau est magnifique. La pénombre dans laquelle baignent les bateaux équilibre bien la photo.

Hi Izzet - The golden light against the blue hour is so pretty here, Izzet, I love the compo with the boats in foreground; the Turkish flag is like a diamond in the crown; maybe it has more powerful impact with a tighter crop at the expense of part of the sky, although this would affect the format. Hello Izzet. Nice to see this very fresh photo, in which you captured a fine blue-hour mood at the old fortress. A peaceful and quiet mood is rendered, and the framing is good with the boats as a foreground layer to the illuminated old structure. Nice shot.

Özellikle göğün mavisi ile kalenin sarısı çok hoş bir kontrast oluşturmuş.
Ön plandaki ışığın nispeten az oluşuda kaleyi daha fazla öne çıkarmış.

This is amazing, with some really incredible colour. The deep blue evening sky contrasts very well with the warm light on the tower, and there is even enough light on the boats in the harbour to show a lot of detail there. Excellent!

I have seen many good photos of Rumelihisari, but lamost none from Anadoluhisari, this masterpiece takes the prize, especially with the flag outstretched.
