Photographer's Note

One of the taller buildings in my home town. Edmonton is an oil town, but far from the corporate hub, it is more of an oil worker town. Large, impressive and modern structures are hard to find. This one intrigued me because of the blue colour of the glass; I thought a red filter would do it justice. The sky didn't get as dark as I would have expected.

Exposure : f/8 1/25 sec
Developed in Xtol for 8 minutes (1:1) @ 22C

Scanned at 1800dpi. Noise filtered. Photoshop frame.

Wow, great perspective...you got a great angle, looks like the whole building is a giant mirror to the sun!!! Great photo of a comun urban scene!!

Well done! The sky is just the right amount of grey and forms a good foil for the blacks and whites of the building. Simple composition and strong diagonal lines make this a great graphic image.

I like the minimal amount of negative space around the building in the top right corner, it makes it a very effective composition. Very appealing converting lines from this building, dazzling angle, well done Tom!

Excelent POV and composition. The photo seems a bit soft for me, but that's a matter of taste. I like those diagonals dressing vertically. Almost a graphic shot.

Excelent architecture photo. The building came out very impressive because your POV, but also because the hard contrasts and the play between light and shadow in the diferent faces.
