Photographer's Note
This is my second pic of the house around the corner from where I currently live.
There is something about this house that I really like. Is it the white panelling? The green panels along either side of the windows? The way the sun hits it? The big sky?
I am experimenting with unconventional compositional styles here (lately I'v been perusing modern photog books on cities and suburbs), so please share you opinions on this.
My first pic of this house was not very successful in terms of getting critiques so please let me assure you that you will not hurt my feelings if you don't like a pic. I really want to know what you think. Critique hard!

Not one of your best Alex, it lacks any real focus (not in terms of sharpness)and is to remote for the abstract that lurks around the window/eaves/sky that I'm sure attracted your attention in the 1st place.
I'd suggest a longer lens and concentrate on the detail.

Une idée sympathique, un peu trop de place est laissée au ciel cependant, ŕ mon humble avis. Sinon j'aime bien cette lumičre sur le haut de la maison !

Interesting POV. The placement of the house with the vivid soft colors create an interesting composition. The sun light is a good detail also.
But considering the unconvencional framing of the house I think I would like to see the vertical lines really vertical and a tighter crop on the house to create a more geometric composition.
Another thing I think you could try was a very thin vertical image of the house. From the ground to the sky. I guess it would be interesting.

This is interesting, not the usual type of shot at all. I like composition, and the strong colours, it looks very suburban. The lighting on the house and tree make this shot work.
Everything is pointing skywards.... suburban dreams.

Hi Alex;
Okay, normally I skip over shots such as this- but you have asked for some honest opinions.
First of all, as they say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Personally- I don't like it.
I struggle to find what the subject is- if there is one.
Colors are good, It's sharp, but the composure etc, - I just don't see it buddy.
Cheers!

Hi Alex, I quite like this. This is a great example of throwing composition rules out the window (no pun intended) which provides for an interesting photo. If this had been a standard view of the house, no one would have had a second glance. It's uncomfortable and that's why I like it. Don
