Photographer's Note
This is another for my Vancouver Residential series.
OK, let's get away from the pretty new homes. Now here, amidst the older homes, the bigger trees, and the more "lived in" feel, I am more comfortable. This pic was taken about a 30 min walk from the last few.
As I've mentioned in earlier posts, I like to walk down alleys, I find them fascinating (even if not always photogenic). The older houses here in Van, like in Toronto, have alleys behind them for parking and sheds.
Post-pro: levels, curves.

I like this one very much, we've walked back in time and find ourselves in the early 70's it seems, even though it's Canada, it has the aesthetics of Vietnam war/USA (as to be opposed to pre vietnam war happy society or post vietnam war hangover)...even the Ektachrome blue colors
Even though this is not the pretty homes, it doesn't convey for me european a feel of a worn out area but more of a still consuming society on the edge of a big desillusion, waking up one day and realizing "hey, this era is finished and gosh, my car is so tacky, how come I didn't change it yet!"...
Only flaw for me is the deep blue case (trashbin?) on the bottom right corner : not really matching with the other skyblue tones.

you've got some really nice tones here alex and luko's already said such nice things about your photograph. wha i like about the photograph the most though is the car and ofcourse the trailor too it kind of gives an idea about the personality of the people living here.
luko's right, the blue dutbin or whatever does seem out of plac, perhaps because the dep blue gives it a more modern feel .
on the whole, it's a silent yet powerful photograph
take care:)

From an aesthetic point of view I suppose the bin is in conflict with the other shades of blue in the shot (which you have rendered very nicely here, by the way).
However I'd rather you keep the bin in the shade that it is-- that it is colour (relative to the way this shot is balanced). It may be out of but it firmly puts the shot in a contemporary space-- 2004 and not 1974.

Alex in this photo you managed to give the feeling of the urban enviroment very well with an original composition. Geometrically the lines lead us perfectly into your picture. I like it.

This is really a very uncomfortable image. Good POV especially in the car exploring it's lenght and aging details. The caravan is also very kitsch and I like the combination of blue tones allover the image.
Recently I saw an exhibition of photos in a major "culture" shop with photos of typical north-american scenes, like details from cars, streets, the policeman looking like a cowboy, etc. But even if they had a nice image quality they did not have this real daily life feeling as you get in your photos.
I really believe that you could make some interestings exhibitions here.

i love this! just like a travel back in time (although the vehicles might actually be older than the houses, i think) great blues on the car and the camper in the foreground, sombre grays on the buildings and a nice blue sky.
(maybe i'd desaturate the blue on the recycle bin in the bottom left)
