Photographer's Note
“The Fishing Stages” is the name of this photo. These are the Quidi Vidi stages, one being rebuilt after a big storm.
These Stages are located at the water's edge or "landwash", and consist of an elevated platform on the shore with working tables and sheds at which fish are landed and processed for salting and drying. Traditionally, they are painted with a red ochre paint, though colours other than red are sometimes seen.

Bonjour Jim,
une scčne trčs typique, on construit vraiment oů on peut et si on n'a pas peur de ce qui peut tombre d'en haut, je pense qu'on trouve une certaine quiétude la bas.
Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Jim
Your notes is very informative thats guide me into this scene and appreaciate this shot even better. Interesting life here and well captured of those 'stages' and I wonder why there is no snow at this time. Well composed image with good depth and perspective with good lead line in spectacular details and sharpness. The lower stage is really an eyecatcher and the water ripples is simply awesome, the cliff provides a nice contrast. Good effort my friend, Congrats. Best rgds

Jim,
This is a nice shot of these platform buildings taken from an excellent POV. The angled view works well leading the eye through the shot. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness.
TFS,
Asa
