Photographer's Note
This is the Vancouver Yacht Club which is in Stanley Park. For obvious financial reasons, I will never be a member at this club :)
When entering this park, this will be the first building you see, you can't miss it. You're looking at the back side of the Club, not the front...the other side is still too dark, whereas this view has the morning sunrise light hitting it.
In the background you can see a couple of highrise condos...you know i had to find a way to get them in here somehow!! :)
Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
Cheers
Craig

Hello Craig,
Interesting contrast between the high-rises and the yacht club building, though no doubt you need lots of cash to afford a place in either:-) I like the lighting here and, especially, those lovely shimmering reflections. Light, colours and sharpness all feature well here.

Hello Craig ,
Excellent perspective on this pretty brown building . The reflections and the light are splendid . The fine details are the little stones in the FG .

Hi Craig,
After read your first sentence, I intended to write : "you share your time between yacht and golf... nice life... ;)" but after read the second, I can't. ;)
I like this morning light, perfect for reflections.
It makes your shot attractive and gives much glare to the colors. Good work Craig.
Have a nice week.

Hi Craig,
fantastic light makes this view really attractive. Excellent compsotion too: nice foreground with the reflection cut with the repeatative geometric element.
Very well done.
The building has an interesting architecture too and it contrasts in a way with the modern buildings in the back.
Have a great week,

Hi Craig
Well you might not know what day it is, but you sure know how to take a waterscape! The symmetry here is sheer perfection, just as beautifully those rocks lead the eye from the FG into the middle of the photo. The colour rendering is superb and I love the effect of those posts in the mid-ground too. Who knows, maybe if you start buying the lottery tickets we'll see a photo of your yacht parked out the front one day. My fingers are crossed for you.
Cheers

Hi Craig,
Stunning reflections of the Victorian architecture along with those inviting tidal harbor poles in the deep blue sea.
Very impressive contrast between the white bridge and trim to the warm brown of the yacht club.

Hi Craig
For sure a fine capture, this one. It strikes me that this park must be wonderful rich of great scenes and motives. A fine and well balanced composition with good sense of depth. The stones, the poles and the painting-like reflections contributes to make this a beautiful and evocative scene. Nice one, Craig! Have a great day.

Salut Craig!

Hello Craig,
An interesting building, maybe not known for its beauty..!
Still what catches attention are the poles, I'm sure they once had a purpose but I can't guess what...
Rich colours and fine details, the distorted reflection is a bonus!

With reference to your notes, Craig, when you become a famous and celebrated photographer, you will have no trouble becoming a memeber!
I wonder whether it might be worthwhile showing them this shot. You could offer to frame it and sell them the copy.
The mood is relaxing, possibly because so much of the shot is the gently shimmering reflection. It gives the posts an enormous sense of height, almost like a protective palisade.
Because the building is so elongated and quite compact vertically, it seems to posses more importance than the tall sky scrapers that peep over its shoulder.
Fine sharpness and lovely light.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Craig,
A very cosy-looking yacht club, the white fence, the doors and windows look spectacular - must be freshly whitewashed:). Great contrast with the high rises there, different styles in architecture side by side. Love the clarity and lighting, excellent sharpness too. Where have all the yachts gone?
Cheers,

Hello Craig,
You use a very good (and very intresting) point of view/perspective, because the picture has a very nice contrast between the old(er) yacht club building (foreground) and with the modern skyline behind (background).
Also the light is good, there are no hard shadows in the picture.....Well done.

Hi Craig,
again a beautiful composition that you have based on an interesting architecture and a few magnificent reflections on the water.
I like the contrast between this building of the Yacht Club and the highrise condos in background.
And of course the reflections in foreground are very photogenic.
The light and the colors are perfect, you have done a great work.
