Photographer's Note
Here, as promised is the second shot of this new movable bridge, the Johnson Street Bridge in Victoria.
Please keep in mind that its almost pitch black outside, so I had to use a tripod with a slow shutter speed, therefore the people may not be totally in focus.
Clearly you can see the old bridge and the new modern sleek bridge, already standing upwards to show it off, showing how it opens up to allow for ships to pass underneath. What you see here is the underside of the elevated bridge deck.
Hope there are bridge lovers out there who will appreciate this one.

As I uploaded this photo on my laptop it looked just fine, but on my desk computer the image is very dark, too dark. Guess it depends on the quality of the screen.

Hello Craig,
Now that the modern bridge is opened to let a ship pass underneath I hope they will remember to raise the old bridge too, just in case a ship should really be coming this way. Just a word of advice. ,-) The persons we see here are quite well in focus, considering the slow shutter speed. It would have been perfectly all right to have them even more blurred. The night belongs to the ghosts.
Cheers,
Gert

Hello Craig,
Thanks for your visit to my picture.
A pity I see too no ruins on this picture, but a nice old iron bridge !!!
With pleasant contrasts with the open bridge.
Composition and presentation are superb.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John

Hello Craig,
Now this looks more like an elevated bridge, than a space rocket!
It is interesting to see the details of the two contrasting bridges, alongside each other.
The illuminated, new one looks more state of the art, than the old one, but there is still something quite charming, with the criss-cross decoration, on the old one.
I suppose, the fact that the figures are using the old one adds to its appeal!
A very well taken, sharp, night shot.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
Thank you for your warm comments on my recent photographs!

Hello Craig, it is good to view both bridges side by side like this. The people add extra interest to the scene.
On my screen it doesn't appear too dark, all the details of both bridges are quite clear.
The blue lights are very distinctive, and can probably be seen from a long way away.
Good follow up to your previous picture.
Kind regards, Jean.

Witaj Craig!
Beautiful bridghes, I love it.
Both constructions are impressive.
However, I feel the sentiment for this old bridge.
Great riveted construction!
Which year.
Excellent framing, colors and light.
Well done.
Warm regards.

Hello Craig, Indeed, these two bridges are very close to each other. But why is one open and the other one closed? How can ships go? Fantastic contrast of the blue and the dark sky. The sharpness is fine.
My backpacks are packed :).
Best regards MAlgo

Hi Craig,
A good comparison between the bridges, the point of view is showing the details of the old one and of the new one. It is of colours with the white and blue of the draw bridge. The presence of the persons has an effect of scale. Have a nice day.

Hello Craig,
A great combination of the two bridges, the old and the new one. The modern one again looks like a futuristic skyscrapers and the old rusty structure of the old one makes a great contrast in front of it.

Olá Craig,
A nova ponte belamente iluminada é uma beleza em si. As cores e luzes são muito atrativas. As pessoas atravessando a ponte antiga e a iluminação diferente dão charme à composição. Lindo trabalho amigo.
Parabéns e abraço

Hi Craig
The photo is bright enough for night letting the lights on the new bridge stand out. The moving people are fine also.

Bonjour, cher Craig,

Hi Craig,
Old trellises always strike a strong pose, especially when they're juxtaposed with glitzy modern building tech. You've chosen a very good PoV and enjoy all the engaging detail here. Re: Yes, the experience was quintessentially Asian. Take care, Bert.

Hi Craig, second pic from the same place for you too as me..ehehe..and this different perspective is very useful showing a different watch to the movable bridge. No problems for the bad details of someone walking,it's impossible to make different,i like it! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Craig, the new bridge illuminated is a costly equipment for Vancouver city. It will help the ships to navigate easier. Good idea to not destroy the old bridge in steel. I see passersby use it. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Craig,
Nice to see I am not the only one who likes bridges. I also went through a phase of beaches. An excellent nocturnal shot with good colour and sharpness and punchy light contrasts. Tfs!

Hello Craig,
Illuminated new bridge gave enough light for a night scene combined with the old steel bridge.
The outcome is sharp and has no "grains" effect, well set the camera.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike
