Photographer's Note
The second shot in my series on ice climbing . The climbers here are only about 10 meters off the ground but they can go all the way up the fall, about 80 meters.

Another great icy shot, Paul. The texture of this ice rock is amazing, as the colors too. I like the man on the right side, which his movement seems to be more dynamic. Very well done.
BTW - It's above my PS skill, but I think if you can clone the wires it could be perfect.

Another good shot of this interesting sport. The color contrast and textures on this photo are great!
The photo is well balanced and it works well also because of the diagonals made by the ropes and the ice (mainly in the left part).

Don't be silly, Paul. Don't clone the wires, they're part of the story. It's a terrific shot. It's very difficult to get good exposure on so much white ice, but you did it. Congratulations!

Bien vu!

Belle réussite, bravo. L'effet est très bien rendu. Les blancs sont bien balancés. C'est une belle photo.

Excellent shot, Paul. I am amazed how many different textures and shades of white/gray are actually visible on the ice. The two climbers are placed really well inside the frame, and I like the ropes (which I think are essential to keep in the image). Well done!

Yes, another beautiful photo. The ice seems cold in "titi" ... Bizarre Sport! I like the texture of the snow as well as the various tones of the ice. Bravo!
Oui, une autre belle photo. La glace semble froide en titi... Sport bizarre! Bravo!

1st I agree in wild sport all safety must be shown, In this picture it helps to give scale to this imense ice face, like the last one it is well seen the details in the ice are realy good and difficult to keep in ,well done.
Ps bring on the canoeing pics ( my silly sport)

A as good composition as the preceding one, you made a success of with setting the exposure, because the ice or snow tends to throw into a panic the cells of the cameras.

Usually, I would prefer a more dramatic angle, but for this image, I love the figures against the colors and textures of the ice. The colors are fascinating and amazing!

Amazing colors and textures you capotured here! The lines doesn't bother me, because it almost divides the frame into three segments and and adds an interesting element. Great composition. Well done!

Hi Paul, both your pics are wonderful, I especially like yesterday's larger format. The whites of the ice are well exposed, and the reds always make for great points of interest. But not for me, thanx, I will stay on terra firma. Well done

Bien vu
Philippe
