With less than 100 m. to go,we encounter this aster alpinus,our reward,growing among the rocks and facing the sun.At the same time,you have a close look of the rocks of mt-Albert,composed of serpentine,with a rust-colored appearance.
To encounter this colorful plant in this arid environment,after 5 hours of trekking and 10.5 km was really a pleasant surprise worth a stop,any excuse is good to regain some breath back,the last km. being quite steep.
Note the black spider on the left,on the rock.

Nous avons rencontré cet aster alpinus à 100m. du sommet,poussant parmi les roches,à l'abri du vent,face au soleil.Cette vision coloré dans cet environnement aride est une excellente récompense,après 5 heures de marche et 10.5km.Elle valait un arrêt,il faut bien une excuse pour reprendre son souffle,surtout que le dernier km. est assez abrupt.
Ce plan rapproché permet de voir de près la serpentine,de teinte rouille,qui donne la couleur caractéristique du mt-Albert.

Notez l'araignée noire sur la roche à gauche de l'aster.
