Photographer's Note

Morning on the waterfront in Vancouver. This was taken from the Stanley Park seawall, looking across toward the downtown area. This is one of my favourite spots to photograph, and I know that I've posted a few shots from this area already - and I'll probably post more too. The fact is that in the morning this view can get some incredible sunrises, because you are looking straight east. When you combine that with the still water (good for reflections) and the city skyline in the background it makes this place very photogenic. For shots like this I like to keep the contrast high and silhoette the boats and buildings, making the sky the main subject (I usually take the meter reading on the sky alone).
