Photographer's Note

The cemetery series of Francisco (xuaxo) made me think of posting this photo I took in the Quebecer village of yore.

It was not a longtime ago, the machinery to dig the very, very hard frozen ground did not exist. So when people died in Winter, they were not buried immediately, their bodies were stored inside coffins in a vault, not far from the church, waiting for Spring time. The bodies were kept frozen by low temperatures of Winter. This picture shows some coffins in a vault like that. I used clone tool to make the inscriptions of the names unreadable (despite the fact they are fictive).

In Workshop, we can see the small building, which was a vault in old times.
