Photographer's Note

Santa Rosa is a small town in the municipality of Maxcanú, in the Yucatan peninsula, and this is its church, which is semi abandoned. Masses are celebrated only once or twice a year, on some special ocassion.

interesting to hear that even though this church is mostly abandoned, its still used a few times a year. I'd love to see this place in person. wonderful subject, these have so much to offer. cheers

Hello Pedro, the bright blue walls stand out from the rest of the view immediately catching the eye.
It has obviously not been deconsecrated if they are still conducting services there occasionally.
An interesting scene.

This church not only looks abandoned but also on the way to become a ruin.
With its blue colour and the many arches, it still catches the eye.

A good photo of this church, seen from a well-chosen angle. The blue walls stand out clearly from the surroundings and the overhanging branches of the trees are well included in the composition.
