Photographer's Note

This is a standard size waxed dummy decorated in accordance with the Huichol Beading Art. There is a long history of beading, making the small beads from clay or corals to make jewelry and to decorate bowls and other items. But the modern way to enliven bowls and masks is to use tiny plastic beads, perforated and brightly colored. These tiny holes allow to pinpoint by hand the beads by means of a needle on the dotted pattern applied on work.
