Photographer's Note

Sometimes, who knows why, it can happen that one has a platonic crush on a stranger in the street. Just a few seconds for a smile, a look... and that's gone. Usually, nobody gives the situation a chance to go on, so that it is soon over, like a dream, a mirage, a fleeting hallucination.

But if one has a camera in hand; this can be another story. And then this ephemeral sensation can become, frozen in a picture, an instant of eternity ...

I saw this woman seated on a porch, hiding from the sun on the stairs. An exchange of looks, like an embrace of souls, a smile, a silence... and finally, a photo.
