Photographer's Note
I end this little tour of street side eateries with a stop in France. Although common throughout the whole of Europe, one of the quintessential aspects of the Parisian culture that has always stood out in my mind are the countless sidewalk cafés/restaurants. More so than almost anywhere else I’ve visited, this city thrives on the experience it offers visitors and locals alike.
Unfortunately I couldn’t get a better angle for this shot, and had to compromise the perspective because of my position, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to photograph what I believe is generally regarded as a prototypical French scene.
I’ll apologize for repeating myself so often, but this was another happy find while wandering the streets in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris, the 4me Arrondissement…most well known as The Marais district.
Have a great weekend everyone. Thanks for stopping by!

Your perspective is mosr usefull, Jason, taking this as up-front scenery, you'd loose some depth and elements on screen.
Typical Cafe' sitting-out commonly seen on pavements throughout Paris, yet each is lovely sight.
Well collected vivid picture, light and clarity managed nicely.
Have a nice weekend,
Ike

Hi Jason,
finally weekend my friend:)
in many european countries there is culture of eating out in such small eateries located along the streets.I find it really great as it defines in my opinion often the character of each city, like in this case Paris.
The scene has very nice, tranquil and relaxing atmosphere completely different from hustle and bustle of big cities(even if we are in the centre of Paris). You were able to convey it excellently here.I like also its color scheme with well-saturated and nicely contrasting colors.
I know it´s not always easy to frame the scene like we want, but you did good job here,so you do not need really worry about.
Wish You a great weekend

Hi Jason
a typical Parisian Restaurant street scene this and one that I must say it is always nice to experience first hand. Your shot captures the atmosphere and real sense of relaxed alfresco dining that takes all afternoon. Not so popular in the UK, but we do try but normally need heaters!! Excellent series and presented deliciously ;-).
Enjoy your weekend - Brian.
PS blowing a gale here today which is slowly shredding all the trees and plants in my garden!

Bonjour Jason,
This is a very lively scene and as you say, it speaks volumes about the atmosphere of Paris. One of the finest things I want to do there is sit at one of these places and enjoy a coffee (meaning beer!!) and a nice fancy feed. I've heard though that these places are unbelievably expensive, is that the case?
You captured very rich pleasing colours here too.
On a sidenote, in recent years, many cafe's in Dublin have decided to become more European, and have set up outdoor seating areas like this. If you ever visit Dublin, you will see many streets with these sectioned off areas. The main difference though, is that tourists tend to find it amusing to watch Dubliners sit in the rain/sleet/snow/drizzle enjoying a cup of coffee that seemingly never ends (because the rain keeps filling it up again). It can be amusing to watch people wrapped in coats and scarfs thinking to themselves "we're going to be European and the weather will not stop us!!" I am as guilty as this as anyone having once sat in a pub beer garden in driving snow :)
Hope you're having a great weekend!
Noel

Hello Jason,
We would love to emulate this style, in England, and certainly do have quite a number of alfresco cafes but, sadly, we do have to battle with the weather all too frequently!
You certainly have recorded a typical aspect of Parisian life with great honesty. You have given a good contextual understanding by the inclusion of the extra details of the street and buildings.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
