Photographer's Note
Still Texel, this time the village of De Cocksdorp.
"Is this yet another misguided attempt at photographic art by Kasia Nowak?", I can hear you ask... ;-)
No, this is exactly what this structure looks like. It's not a real windmill, but a life-size surreal work of art.
More Texel art in WS.

Modern dutch art and really dutch.
Very interesting object and you found a great angle to use the backlight and the setting optimal.

Zdravo Kasia. Funny little note. I suppose we are all a touch misguided now and then when we act at the spur of the moment and later wonder why we took such and such a photo.Interesting work of Art, a dedication to those poor souls who cannot saw straight nor use a hammer without hitting their thumb? Not sure about the light here, for my taste too diffused but you must have been satisfied with the aura. Srdacni pozdrav i ugodna sedmica.Klaudio.

Hi Kasia, very original artwork dedicate to one of the symbols of Netherlands, the choice of the moment with this special warm light is a winner, and you play very well with the dark silhouette,i like the WS too.Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Bonjour Kasia,
J'aime beaucoup ce cadrage vertical ŕ l'heure ou le soleil se couche.Cette forme ressemble étrangement ŕ un moulin ŕ vent męme si elle ŕ le corps d'un poste d'observation.

Hello Kasia,
What I like with your photos is, among other things, that I never know what to expect. You have a refreshing lack of style :-), i.e. you are not stuck with taking basically the same photo over and over. There are such members on TE. This is a fascinating structure, made a lot more surrealistic by the almost eerie back-light. And the WS is very interesting too.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Kasia
I must say, at first I thought you'd photographed a reflection and flipped the result. And I suspect that's what the creator of this wonky windmill had in mind. Your photograph is more than just a record of the object, however: the light, which creates a monochromatic effect, and the use of near-silhouette had made a graphic and "artistic" interpretation!
Kind regards
Will
P.S. Thanks for doing me the honour of trawling through my back catalogue! Maybe it's a shame more of us don't do it, as there's a wealth of fine work from good people who no longer post. I'll return the favour when I've got a few hours to spare!

Hi Kasia,
Strange but spectacular silhouette. An unusual windmill that surely captures the attention. Well taken.
Have a nice weekend.

Wiatrak wygląda jak studium architektoniczne Gehry'ego, jest świetny, szczegóły nie istotne bo na tle takiego nieba wygląda doskonale

Hello Kasia,
What a fabulous work of art and it is very dramatic against the yellow sky. The darker clouds at the top hold the composition together. Very well taken.
Kind Regards, Ann

Greetings Kasia,
. . . but it looks so much like the real thing that one can picture Don Quixote just off frame to the left (with Sancho Panza quite a distance further off to the left). It is not easy photographing works of art - unless looking for a documentary approach, one needs to reinterpret the work through the lens. You have created your work of art here. Nice work. Iain.
