Photographer's Note
This is another from my series of perspectives of Mackinac Island. We went one weekend in October, and over the weekend we have basically every possible form of weather, including this amazing fog. I personally love swamps and when I saw this swampy area around the far side of the island I walked out to take some shots of the island itself. If you ever get to Mackinac Island I recommend going around the outside of the island for sure. But be warned that the rental bikes there will make your backside a little sore. :) Hopefully this upload will be sharper than my last one.

Wow, not a typical view of Mackinac, Kristi, but all the more interesting because of it. It very successfully evokes a swampy look and feel. I like the blend of shore and treeline, fog and clear areas, too. I was in Mackinac City in June -- great place to visit as well.

I like the dark mood portrayed here...quite different from the pictures that I have seen from Mackinac. You've captured the fog quite well and I like the graineness of the image. I feel the image is a tad too dark for me (I tried a workshop with a different viewpoint). Anyways, welcome to TE; you've got some great uploads so far, so I look forward to more pictures.

On a first look - it seems quite a simple picture, but it isn't. Very good work, well done!
