Photographer's Note
I was looking at something today which identified me as a "senior member" of the Trek Earth community, and that gave me pause. I went back and looked at my intro, and come to find out, today marks my sixth anniversary of discovering and joining this fascinating site. I thought it only appropriate to add a post for the occasion.
I chose this photo because it seems to me one that's true to the mission of TE, "learning about the world through photography." Here in northeast Wisconsin, we're never far from wildlife, and that's what I'm really trying to convey about our corner of the world in this image.
On the hazy summer late afternoon I took this shot, I was going to or from a school board meeting (I don't remember exactly which now), and I glanced out my window and saw a deer running through the field. There wasn't time to fine-tune controls, so I pointed, focused, and shot a quick few. Here is the one I liked best. The only post-processing is sizing for TE and a bit of sharpening.

Hello Jim,
I believe that this shot is a real success. You have caught the moment, when the deer is in a good visibility in the middle of the nice field and the haze reproduces a special pre-sunset atmosphere very well. A good way to mark a TE anniversary. Congratulations!
Best regards,
Sergiy
