Photographer's Note
While in downtown Boston, I came across this scene: a film crew filming a documentary featuring one of Boston's oldest and most important historical sites, the old State House. I've posted a shot of the old State House before, at night.
There was actually a large crowd gathered to watch this filming take place; I'm not sure why, as it was not a particularly exciting event, but I took a couple shots nonetheless.
My previous shot of the old State House can be seen here.

Hello Andrew,
I think all photographers like to watch other photographers (or film crews) at work - perhaps we are looking for some tips on how best to take pictures ourselves, I'm not sure.
But you have caught this scene well, the focus of attention (and the cameraman's camera too) being the lady in the yellow top and dark blue skirt, well potrayed against the fine brick building behind her. That building is well seen too and stands out beautifully against the taller, paler building behind and the tall yellowish tower of the first building is very well placed in the frame.
Lovely colours and light, perfect exposure and stunning details and sharpness.
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.

Bonjour Andrew,

Hello Andrew,
The other picture from here was maybe bolder in POV and colors, but I prefer this more straightforward shot. I always enjoy a human presence, which I get here and also some nice colors. The composition also makes my eyes jump step by step, from the nearest little crowd to the brick building, then further up to the tower and finally to the larger buildings behind. There is no way I could avoid looking at the whole picture.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hello Andrew - This is a super shot. I like the way that the buildings fill the frame and I can see good detail in the architecture. You have been creative in the composition of the shot with the group of onlookers and the presenter adding interest but not detracting from the overall balance of the frame. Very nice work. Warm regards Rosemary

Hi Andrew,
It is strange how people will gather to watch any event, just pop in a camera, and people become like ostrcihes! It is a great sht of not only the town hall, but also the towers rising up behind it. Beautiful styles of architecture all mixed perfectly together, and you also got really great light on the scene too.
All the best

Hey Andrew,
I stumbled upon a French crew filming a music video in a public square last year and was fascinated on watching them work angles and deal with the lighting conditions. It's fun to capture people working their craft. I like that you've included so much of what this crew is reporting on, it gives a good sense of their surroundings and subject matter. The vertical composition greatly enhances just that aspect. Nice recognition and presentation of daily life, capturing that spontaneous and unscripted moment.
Regards,
Jason

HI Andrew
for some reason, if a person has a tripod and a camera, people walking by HAVE to stop and look whatever you're looking at! its like a car crash on the hwy!
its amazing how a camera man attracts people in groves.
and of course having a pretty woman helps too :)
I remember your post you mentioned taken at night aswell.
a photo displaying funny human behaviour
why are we all like this? lol
cheers

Hi Andrew !
A comprehensive filming capture, an action in which a lonely actor/presenter must stand firm in front of the crew and many curious passers-by. Nice vertical, wide frame shot. Congratulation and thanks for sharing!
