After a bit of a break from posting, I am reviewing some latest shots now that I have a new PC and CS3.
This one is from a recent hike in central Massachusetts.

Hello Kathy,
Beautiful capture, the driftwood adds so much to the foreground of the shot. I like the soft colours of the autumn mood.
Did you throw the rock to cause the ripples???
Lovely vertical composition, a very pleasing image.

Peter

Very nice composition. I like the lighting and detail on the rocks and tree in the fg, and the bg scenery is beautiful. TFS

Hello Kathy,
Interesting composition with the use of the trunk to drive the look from the foreground in the shadow to the background in the light. With a large deep of field it is working well.

Hi Kathy.
Wow! This shot is a beauty. And quite a difficult exposure I imagine, with the island (or is it a jutting headland) in full sunlight and shade falling on the rocks and branch in the foreground. The branch seems to lead the eye towards the island, and it breaks up the texture and colour of the rocks. I love the soft sky and the ripples in the lake. Like Peter, I wondered if you had caused them; I've read your reply to him and think it's fair enough. The picture conveys a strong sense of serenity and that light looks like late afternoon. I think the portrait orientation was a good choice for this one, giving it great depth. Well done.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Kathy! Very interesting composition, draws the eye in towards the circle of ripples and to the island and the warm light. I always enjoy the contrast between dark gray/cool tones and warm light tones in reverse (dark ones in front) in a photo and it worsk really well here.

Hi Kathy,
Good to drop by again....your latest images are a lovely selection. This one is also a beauty with fantastic depth and lovely light on the trees at back. You've caught the shape and form of the rocks perfectly. A contrast between the tranquil scene and the expanding ripples of the disturbed water.Great stuff!

Hi Kathy,
It's a beautiful shot! An expert composition, the log really adds to the look and it's positioning pointing out forward across the lake leads me right into the image and the beautifully lit island. The depth and focus of the image is great, absolutely sharp from top to bottom. I might have contrasted the sky a little more just for added effect to draw out the cloud detail a bit more but that's all.
Lovely shot, all the best
Lee
