The Bowery Mural

So after our TE-meeting with Murat in Pittsburgh, it was time for our second TE-meeting of the summer. We met Brenda at Union Square, just like two years earlier, and after lunch she took us to The Bowery neighbourhood to give us a tour around the area and its many examples of street art in the streets of Manhattan. My next posts will show some impressions of what we saw and admired during our stroll in the New York summer heat.

Here’s the Bowery Mural, located on the corner of the Bowery and Houston Street. It’s an outdoor exhibition space, owned by real estate developer Tony Goldman. In 2008, he started a project whose purpose it is to showcase contemporary (street) artists from around the world. Last summer’s artwork was made by American street artist Tristan Eaton (1978), who completed his mural Intermission after a week’s work in early July.
